8. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY I PAY INSURANCE FOR MY TICKET ?
Since September 11, 2001, airlines worldwide could no longer cover war risk with their insurance brokers. They therefore came up with an additional charge to be born by the passenger, called “war risk tax / insurance”.
For domestic flights the amount is Php 250 for Seair, Air Philippines, Zest Air, Cebu Pacific and
Php 300 for Philippine Airlines and PAL Express. The insurance is already included in the ALL-IN fares.
